Marijuana Syrup for Kids Who Are Suffering from Epilepsy

Medical Marijuana Epilepsy

Marijuana Syrup for Kids Who Are Suffering from Epilepsy – An Issue of Controversy Living life with a seizure is really an agonizing experience not only to the patient but also to those who truly care and bear with the pain that continually torments their beloved. Such is the case of Heather Jackson in Colorado who made a tough decision to use the controversial medical marijuana syrup as the last resort to treat his son’s perilous seizures. Her son, Zaki Jackson was still 6 months old when diagnosed with a kind of epilepsy so extreme that it strikes with almost 60 – 250 seizures a day. It caused her to fear for his life for many years. Jackson had spoken to NBC’s chief medical editor Dr.

Nancy Snyderman that at times his son would stop breathing, all the air emptied at his lungs and he doesn’t get another breath until the seizure is over. For 10 years, she tried 17 medications but there was no eminent progress. Zaki’s parents were amazed and quite hesitant at first when their doctor recommended to use medical marijuana as their last preference. But in spite of the degradation linked with cannabis, they were determined to pursue it for their son’s sake. Fortunately for them marijuana is legal in their state if used as a medicine and a handful of it provide preblockedions to the children with the supervision of the parents, to treat a host of illnesses, extending from autism to cancer.

However, some group of doctors are expressing some real concerns including the American Academy of Pediatrics, which argue that this kind of medication has not yet been clinically established in kids and might put their children at threat of long-term consequences of marijuana use that we still don’t fully fathom. But for Zaki’s parents, it was still worth the try. The results were abrupt and spectacular, there were no seizures after Zaki’s first dose and it has been already eight months since his last seizure.

He had finally began to do typical kid activities and after a decade Heather finally had the chance to get to know her son, since he was still so young back then when he started to had seizures. Zaki’s pot of marijuana is being grown explicitly for him by a crew of brothers who legitimately grow medical marijuana and processed it into a special syrup which comprises of an extract of refined cannabis oil that is high in CBD. The reason why it can dial down seizure without getting the kids high is because it has been produced to have low levels of THC – the compound that makes you high, while a higher level of a different cannabinoid called cannabidiol, or CBD is being produced.

Compared with THC, Cannabidiol (CBD) is psychoactive, and is deliberated to have an extensive possibility of medical application than THC, comprising multiple sclerosis spasms, epilepsy, anxiety disorders, nausea, schizophrenia, inflammation and convulsion, as well as impeding cancer cell development. CBD may reduce the degree of THC allowance from the body, conceivably by snooping with the metabolism of the THC in the liver.

Other research designates that CBD intensify alertness and has been revealed to decrease growth of the ferociousness of human breast malignant cells in vitro, and to lessen their intrusiveness. Nonetheless, no one is implying that marijuana or cannabis should be a first line drug of choice, but as children need solutions for their health problems, traditional medicines aren’t treating, all efforts have been exhausted, and the parents have come to be really frustrated they have nowhere else to turn, increasingly the medical community and parents have come to embrace this as the last rally of effort and are putting all their hopes for a better quality of life that their children deserves even though they are all aware of this being really personally, socially and politically controversial.
